"Snow mushrooms"

The snow has melted enough that I can walk around the neighborhood comfortably. I've taken the camera out on expeditions, with eyes open for interesting shots.

Duncan Gardens is growing snow mushrooms! Take a look.

They're maybe not as pretty as the usual flowers, but I think they'd feed a lot of folks.

I'm playing with Photoshop some more. This is the "colored pencil" effect:

cool photos. I took a look at the ones on flicker. I like the ones of the pine needles covered with snow.

I'm so glad I found your blog!
These snow photos are so interesting, especially when Photo Shop gets involved.
Thanks for making my day.
P.S. I lived in Spokane when I was 18, a couple hundred years ago.

Isn't it interesting what you can find with melting snow and ice. I live near a river dam and on the few days in the winter when the conditions are just right, the rushing water creates what I call "ice lillies". They are circles of ice which look like water lilly pads.
