Cub Scout Camp 2008

We spent Memorial Day weekend at Cub Scout family camp, on Lake Coeur d'Alene in Idaho. We've had a bit of flooding around here (due to lots of winter mountain snow that hadn't done a lot of melting until now), and the lake was quite high, but it didn't much interfere with a fun weekend.

Ross could hardly wait to get to the BB gun range. Last year, he missed earning his shooter's patch by one point. He got a chance to practice last summer, so now he was ready to try again.

Getting ready to shoot

Listening to safety instructions from the rangemaster....

Chris and Ross at gun range

Getting some sighting help from Dad....

Scoring the BB gun target

Getting his target scored.... At last, he scored enough points to earn his patch! We were all pretty excited.

We were more relaxed than last year. We knew what to expect and coped with the schedule better, and Ross didn't have homework hanging over his head this year. Also, we were fortunate to be with a group of super nice folks!

Other photographic moments from the weekend:

Flag ceremony

Coming down the bouncy slide

Ross with metal puzzle

And, I did manage to work on some artsy stuff, as well.

Droplets on leaves (off center)

(There are lots of new photos in my Flickr account, if you're interested.)

Congratulations Ross! The camp looks like lots of fun
...and the photo of the leaf that's been sprinkled with raindrops is gorgeous.
