My poor blog has been so neglected this year. Every time I think that I'll get into a blog-posting groove, something comes up. I've spent a lot of this month sick, like so many others folks. It's been a difficult transition to spring this year. Plus, there's been the rush to get things done before we head out to California to spend Easter weekend at Disneyland. My to-do list is not all done, but that's okay. It felt more important to post some photos of my latest creations before I get on the plane.
After I recuperated from a sinus infection, I spent a lot of time working on my backpack. But it became more complicated than I thought it would be, and it was going to be a big push to get it done on time. And as is so often the case, my attention started to wander. I wanted to make some quick plushies, in honor of my upcoming birthday.
My workplace has an unusual birthday tradition. Instead of coworkers bringing you presents on your birthday, you bring presents to them for your birthday! You're supposed to bring something that you'd like to get yourself. So I bought coffee-flavored candies and fun little buttons, but nothing else was presenting itself to me. Except that I knew that I'd LOVE to get little homemade plushies . . . and that I'd love to make them, too.
It wasn't hard to abandon the backpack to make plushies. It was more fun to make something for my friends than for myself!
Here they are -- the birthday treat plushies!
My personal birthday treat will be spending my 47th birthday with my husband and son at Disneyland -- my birthday is Easter this year, no less. May you all have a beautiful Easter Sunday.
